Assessment: Handing in Coursework

Submission dates for any coursework within your programme will be provided in your assignment briefs, available on your Studynet module pages, but you should be aware that circumstances may sometimes occur which mean dates have to be changed. Be sure to always confirm submission dates and assessment requirements with the module tutor.

Unless otherwise directed by your tutor, coursework should be handed in via the Assignment link on your Studynet module page, or with the completed assessment form in the Todd Building, via the submissions letterboxes using an electronic barcode system. Your assignment brief will specify the location and method of submission. Please be advised that (in the case of the letterboxes) although a dated receipt will be issued to you automatically as your record of submission, the receipt alone does not constitute proof that you actually submitted the work. The date of submission is confirmed only when work is collected and signed in at the end of the day. Your tutors will explain the submission system to you and if you have any problems, the Student Office staff will help you.

Deliberate misuse of the system may result in grade penalties.

When you submit coursework for assessment, you are reminded that you are:

  • responsible for familiarising yourself with any submission requirements, deadlines or penalties, and should contact your tutor if anything is unclear
  • required to submit all work for assessment by the deadline that has been stipulated unless an extension of time has been granted, in writing, by the appropriate member of the academic staff in advance of the deadline or a case for Serious Adverse Circumstances has been formally declared by you, again in advance of the deadline
  • responsible for stating clearly at the end of each piece of coursework being submitted for assessment, any other student/person with whom you have worked
